Gilido works casual jobs to support his family. When he learned that tourism could uplift their village,
he joined BBCDA and began taking part in tree planting and nursery maintenance with hope rather than
hesitation.
What changed his life most was the exposure. Through his involvement, more people now know him.
He receives more work calls, even from leaders in the area, and can now meet the needs of his seven
children. Three of them are in school, something he once struggled to manage.
Quote: “A big change is coming to my village. It will come if each of us plays our part in
planting and protecting trees. I am doing my part, and I encourage everyone else to do
